Using Parkmarkr
Everything you need to know to get the most out of the app.
The Home Screen
The home screen gives you a quick overview of your last parking session and shows you whether Parkmarkr is actively monitoring.
Monitoring indicator
A small animated dot shows you what the app is doing. A slow, single pulse means Parkmarkr is watching for your carpark arrival. A fast triple pulse means a session is in progress — the app has detected you've entered the carpark and is waiting for you to park.
Last detected level
Shows the most recently detected parking level, along with the time it was detected. If you manually updated a record, it shows "Updated by you" instead.
Carpark name and level range
Displays the name of your configured carpark and the level range so you always know which carpark is active.
Confirming a Detection
After each parking session, you'll see a thumb up and thumb down button on the home screen. This is the most important thing you can do to improve Parkmarkr's accuracy.
Thumb up — it's correct
Tap this if the detected level is right. Each confirmation helps Parkmarkr become more accurate for your specific carpark.
Thumb down — something's wrong
Tap this if the level is incorrect. You'll be asked whether it was the wrong level (you can correct it) or a false detection (you can delete the record entirely).
Why does this matter? Every confirmation and correction teaches Parkmarkr more about your carpark. After a few sessions, accuracy improves noticeably.
Parking History
All your past parking sessions are saved and viewable in the history list on the home screen, sorted newest first.
Delete a record
Swipe a record or open it and tap delete. You'll be asked to confirm.
Add a record manually
Use the "Add manually" button to log a parking session by selecting the level yourself. Useful if auto-detection wasn't available.
Clear all records
Clear your entire history from the settings. A confirmation prompt is shown before anything is deleted.
My Spot Tab
The My Spot tab (bottom navigation) is your personal snapshot tool. Use it to remember exactly where in the carpark you left your car — especially useful in large or underground carparks where GPS doesn't work.
- 1
Switch to the My Spot tab from the bottom navigation bar.
- 2
Tap the camera icon to take a photo, or pick one from your photo library. You can add up to 5 photos.
- 3
Optionally type a short note (e.g. "Near pillar B3, facing the exit").
- 4
Tap "Save spot" to save. Your photos and note are stored on your device.
- 5
When you return to the carpark, open the My Spot tab to see exactly where you parked.
- 6
Tap the clear button in the top right to reset when you're done.
Manual Triggers
The floating button (+) on the home screen gives you two manual options for situations where auto-detection didn't kick in automatically.
At entrance
Use this when you're at the carpark entrance and want to manually start a session. The app will capture your current position as the entrance reference.
I've parked
Use this once you've parked and an active session is running. The app will immediately capture your current level and save the record.
Suggestions from Parkmarkr
Occasionally, Parkmarkr may show a banner on the home screen suggesting an update to your setup. This happens when the app notices a pattern that could improve accuracy.
You can always apply the suggestion to let Parkmarkr update itself, or dismiss it if you'd rather not. Either choice is safe — you're always in control.
