Troubleshooting
The app didn't detect my parking
- → Check that you drove through the entrance normally — brief stops or drive-throughs near the entrance can sometimes be skipped.
- → If you parked very recently after another session at the same carpark, there may be a cooldown active. Use the manual "At entrance" trigger from the home screen to bypass it.
- → Make sure Location permission is set to "Always" in your phone's settings for Parkmarkr.
- → You can always add a parking record manually using the "Add manually" button.
The wrong level was detected
- → Tap the thumb down button on the home screen and select "Wrong level" to correct it.
- → Confirming and correcting detections helps the app improve — try to do this after every session.
- → If wrong detections happen repeatedly, try re-running setup to refresh your carpark readings.
Setup won't save or a step shows as incomplete
- → Each step in setup must be fully completed. Steps shown in orange need to be redone.
- → If you changed a step (e.g. updated the level count), any steps that depend on it will need to be re-captured.
- → Make sure you've captured both the entrance reading and the calibration reading before trying to save.
Notifications are not appearing
- → Check that Notification permission is granted for Parkmarkr in your phone's settings.
- → On some Android devices, battery optimisation settings can block background notifications. Try disabling battery optimisation for Parkmarkr.
- → Make sure Do Not Disturb mode isn't silencing notifications.
Battery drains after parking
- → If your home is close to your carpark, the app can briefly activate background detection when you arrive home after parking.
- → Open the carpark setup flow (tap the settings icon on the home screen) and scroll to the Detection & Battery section.
- → Make sure Session cooldown is turned on. The default of 4 hours suits most people — reduce it only if you regularly park more than once a day.
- → If you need to park again before the cooldown ends, use the manual "At entrance" trigger from the home screen to start a session immediately without changing the setting.
The app says my device is not compatible
- → Parkmarkr requires specific hardware that is present in most modern smartphones.
- → Unfortunately, if your device is flagged as incompatible during setup, the app cannot work on that device. This cannot be resolved from within the app.
